Are You Prepared for Hurricane Season?

CIL Orlando serves 7 counties in Central Florida, which means there’s thousands of individuals in our community who might not be ready in case of an emergency.

This hurricane season, CIL wants to provide the most valuable resources for the protection of you and your family. Listed below are some available links and phone numbers to additional resources readily available for any concerns you may have regarding preparation this hurricane season.

Have a Plan that Includes:

1. Tracking the Storm

2. Getting Emergency Supplies 

  • Water – one gallon of water per person per day
  • Food – at least a three-day supply of non-perishable food
  • Manual can opener for food
  • A variety of batteries
  • Flashlights
  • First aid kit
  • Whistle to signal for help
  • Charged Cell phone with chargers and a backup battery

Include prescribed medications, food, water, and cash sufficient for at least 7 days.

 

3. Evacuation Planning 

Evacuating: If you are ordered to evacuate, know the local hurricane evacuation route(s) to take and have a plan for where you can stay.
