Community Inclusion

Every day across Central Florida, individuals with disabilities face barriers to housing, transportation, healthcare, and full participation in community life and the need for support continues to grow. Community Inclusion meets this need through advocacy, personalized support, and service navigation that empower individuals to live independently and engage meaningfully in their communities.
Last year, this program reached more than 1,700 individuals navigating a variety of services from communication, financial management, skills training, food, and more.

For months, I felt frustrated and overwhelmed trying to resolve my Social Security issue. CIL helped me every step of the way. When the overpayment was finally waived, it was an incredible relief.

Aspire to Hire

Individuals with disabilities remain significantly underrepresented in the workforce despite bringing valuable skills, perspectives, and innovation. Aspire to Hire is changing that by addressing the gap, where only 22.8% of individuals with disabilities are employed compared to 65.2% of those without, through a dual approach: preparing individuals for meaningful employment and partnering with businesses to build inclusive hiring practices.

CIL has been very influential as I tried to find housing, gave me a sense of hope. They’ve helped me stay accountable setting goals and sticking to them. It’s been very helpful knowing I’m not alone even though I live with disabilities

Deaf Voice

Communication is a fundamental human right, yet for many Deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals, barriers still exist. Deaf Voice works to eliminate those barriers and advance true communication equity through culturally competent, empowering services led by individuals with lived experience. As one of the Center for Independent Living in Central Florida’s founding programs, Deaf Voice expands access to communication while creating pathways for leadership, advocacy, and full participation within the Deaf community.
During the 2024-2025 fiscal year, this program served over 265 Deaf consumers.
