Independence begins at home, but for many individuals with disabilities, their environment can be the greatest barrier. Foundations to Freedom addresses this need by providing home modifications, durable medical equipment, and assistive technology that make living spaces safer and more accessible. For many, this program is the difference between independence and institutional care because a safe home is the foundation of freedom.
Foundations to Freedom remains our highest demand, averaging more than 15 calls a week looking for supports with home modifications, durable medical equipment and assistive technology.
Despite the demand, this program serves more than 300 individuals each year with more than 600 services. As a result, the individuals served by this program have reported an average of 47% improvement in their home accessibility and safety.
