Family Disability Navigator
Navigating disability services can feel overwhelming for families, with complex systems, long waitlists, and unclear next steps often delaying critical support. The Family Disability Navigator program was created to change that by providing personalized, one-on-one guidance to help families access services, understand their rights, and build sustainable plans for their child’s success in school and beyond. Through support with diagnoses, 504 plans and IEPs, parent and youth groups, connections to therapies and community resources, and certified Positive Parenting training, the program removes barriers and empowers families to make informed decisions with confidence.
Since this program began in 2022, CIL has been able to reach over 1,500 families with more than 94% consistently reporting increased independence as a result of the services they received.
Step Ahead
The transition from school to adulthood is one of the most critical, and often most vulnerable, moments for young people with disabilities. Step Ahead bridges that gap by providing hands-on training, mentorship, and real-world work experience that prepares participants for meaningful careers and independent living. Through career camps, internships, and partnerships with local employers, the program offers direct exposure to the workforce, helping young adults build confidence, develop essential skills, and move toward long-term success and self-sufficiency.
